Travel

If you are traveling by car, you will need to get to Big Bear Lake, California. From there, approximately the last five miles are on dirt roads, which are typically passable in a two-wheel drive passenger vehicle. For those who wish to leave their vehicle at a Forest Service facility in Big Bear, we will make arrangements to shuttle students to the campgrounds. Precise directions along with a rendezvous point and time will be mailed to students approximately six weeks prior to the beginning of class.

If you are traveling by plane, the closest airport is in Ontario, California. Those arriving by air should plan to arrive before or around noon on Friday, June 19th. We will arrange to pick up students at Ontario airport once that day. Those leaving by air should schedule their departure flight no earlier than 3 PM on Friday, July 24, 2008. Students will be delivered to the airport area once on Friday, July 24, 2008. If your departure flight is scheduled for Saturday, plan on staying overnight at one of the local hotels. A hotel shuttle will deliver you to the airport on Saturday in time for your flight.
