Dear Parent,
Is your child interested in attending an archaeological field school? Here, you’ll find information that will help you to make a decision and support your child in their pursuit of an extraordinary summer of academic excellence and personal growth.
Often times, a student’s decision to study abroad can be more stressful for the parent than the child. There are health and safety concerns, financial concerns, and quality concerns, among others. Our program takes all of these matters very seriously and addresses them to the fullest extent possible.
Health and Safety
The health and safety of our students is paramount in every field school we establish. All of our locations have been personally visited and evaluated by UCLA staff. Finances
Costs of field programs are kept as low as possible, and each participant receives 12 credit units, easily transferable to almost any university around the world. The UCLA Archaeology Field School is a cost-effective way for your child to finish his or her degree. To assist with financing, the UCLA Archaeology Field Program offers a range of scholarships and financial aid packages, most of which have no restrictions. Quality
UCLA Archaeology Field Program Directors are leading scholars in their field. All share a strong passion for archaeological research and a deep commitment to teaching. To ensure that all projects are of the highest academic quality, each program is handpicked by the Director of International Research, reviewed and approved by a committee of senior UCLA archaeologists, and evaluated personally by representatives of the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology.
