Computer Modeling of Archaeological Ruins

Learn important skills for three-dimensional computer modeling. Through this program, you'll be introduced to digital recording equipment (laser scanner, laser transit, differential GPS and modeling programs (AutoCAD, Maya, PhotoModeler, ArcGIS) at Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Incas. After training for two weeks, you'll travel to Machu Picchu--the lost jungle city of the Incas--and work at creating a complete 3D computer model of the site. You'll then return to Cuzco to finish digital work, processing, and your project presentation.
Cuzco is at high elevation (11,600 feet above sea level) in the colonial and Inca city of Cuzco. The city, considered the archaeological capital of South America, offers a wide range of daytime and nighttime activities.
