Dr. Samuel V. Connell, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Foothill College and a Research Associate with UCLA’s Cotsen Institute of Archaeology. Connell joined Foothill College from Hawaii where he was an anthropologist with the Central Identification Laboratory leading MIA recoveries. Prior to beginning work on the Pambamarca Archaeological Project in 2001, Connell organized a series of projects in the Maya areas of Honduras and Belize. Connell's research has centered on understanding ancient societies from a community-centered perspective, and has recently focused on applications of Remote Sensing Technologies and GIS.

Dr. Chad Gifford is currently a Dean at Columbia University and has recently held university teaching positions in the New York City area at the New School and Columbia University. His dissertation research was based on 15 months of archaeological research in Argentina and draws upon years of archaeological experiences in Italy, Greece, the Caribbean, Mesoamerica and North America. His recent research has focused on the Inca Empire and its activities in the high mountains of northwest Argentina.

Ms. Ana Lucía González is an American/Ecuadorian archaeologist who has spent past summers working in Perú, Belize and California. Most recently, she was working on the islands of Oahu and Hawaii doing contract archaeology. She is currently completing her MA thesis research with our project through the University of Hawaii, studying ethnicity and ceramics, and will hopefully be just the first of many Ecuadorian collaborators joining the project.
